I do not support OtherCon, I highly discourage content creators, speakers, panelists, and artists from contributing without knowing the following information:

  1. Othercon does not believe in giving panelists, speakers, artists, and exhibiters the proper tools to defend themselves from harassment.
  2. While Othercon has a privacy policy, it is unenforceable and is not setup to actually be followed. You cannot request that Othercon cease processing or erase your data, despite their claims. The platforms they use (Google, Discord, and Weebly) make this impossible.
  3. Othercon believes they have the right to enforce their code of conduct on participants retroactively, that is, punish attendees or perspective attendees for past actions. Othercon is more worried about being PC than reflecting programming of interest to the various different types of people in the community.

I don’t believe the final say in an individual’s right to be protected from harassment should be arbitrated by con staff. In a digital event, an exhibiter should retain moderation control of their portion.

If you are fine with all of the above stipulations, feel free to participate, however, please be aware of what you’re going to get.
